Jeep Cherokee

Jeep’s new look Cherokee brings style and sophistication to the 4WD vehicle class. The model is not only a capable off-roader, but also rewards buyers in urban environments with safe and exciting performance. No matter where you travel the vehicle’s variety of cutting-edge in-car technology will support you during every journey.

Design

The Cherokee has been designed to be different as you will realize immediately. The hood incorporates Jeep’s familiar front grille where vertical air vents line up across the car’s nose. On each side are narrow headlamps which stretch back towards the square wheel arches. They are constructed from a tough plastic to protect the body from debris and the same material also covers the fenders and features below the doors. Alloy wheels put the Cherokee on a stable platform while roof rails add another cargo option.

On the inside the SUV offers a level of luxury that many true off-roaders cannot match. Soft leather upholstery in select models meets accents that contrast with the dark and durable dashboard and doors. Versatility is another major strength of the cabin. The 60/40 rear bench can slide forward and split to increase the capacity of the trunk. At the very front a driver-focused cockpit allows effortless control of the Cherokee’s many on-board functions.

Technology

Jeep knows that more is expected from today’s vehicles and has equipped the Cherokee to meet its customers’ expectations. There are four model versions on sale: Sport, Longitude, Trailhawk and Limited.

The Touchscreen Media Command Center includes an 8.4” display to clearly show details on your chosen source of entertainment or information. Parallel & Perpendicular Park Assist is your guidance system when moving into or out of spaces. It uses sensors to measure a gap before delivering prompts to help you park.

Performance

You can pair the Cherokee’s performance to your driving preferences by choosing from one of two tough Jeep engines. The 2.4 liter Tigershark unit generates 184hp and is the alternative to the 3.2 liter Pentastar V6 with 271hp. There is clearly no shortage of power or torque from either engine. This is sent to each wheel through the Jeep Active Drive II 4x4 system or the Jeep Active Drive Lock 4x4 system. Both systems offer selectable traction modes and a rear axle disconnect feature to optimize performance for changing terrains. When you need to navigate large obstacles and slopes the Selec-SpeedTM system will be a welcome addition. It allows you to set a constant speed between one and eight mph to remain firmly in control. Jeep’s excellent new nine-speed automatic gearbox arrives with the model to manage the transfer of power and torque perfectly.

Safety

Awaiting imagery

The SUV’s abundance of technology enhances the car’s safety as well as its driving dynamic. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the car in front. It can also be switched off when it isn’t needed. All of the standard active systems such as the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) have been fitted to give you confidence during any trip. They complement the 4x4’s passive equipment which protects should a highly unlikely collision take place. In this situation numerous airbags deploy within the rigid body frame.
